Oh! Where to begin? This has been quite the weekend. Lets start
off with the fact that I won something! Some thing wonderful! Kat, over at The Story of Kat, one of my favorite blogs to read, had this giveaway and I am the proud and elated winner! I LOVE all the beautiful and useful things she has in her store, you can check them out here. Her posts are great fun to read as well. I am especially awaiting her trip to Scotland to get married! For those of you who don't know, I am
an Outlander FREAK and have insisted she must read them before she goes. When I feel I can do them justice I will post about the book series here. In the meantime if you're interested, check Amazon for Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. In conclusion, thank you Kat!! I am going to put my prize straight to use as some R&R will be much needed after this whirlwind weekend.
Yesterday I loaded up Mr. Boone and off we went to town at 8am. Our first stop was Goodwill, looking for an enamel or glass pot to boil our silk dyed
eggs in. No luck but I did score a beautifully soft creamy white wide whale corduroy blazer from J. Jill. I did not photograph it b/c I can't make clothes photograph nicely yet. But it's nice.
Next stop was another thrift store. No luck on the pot again, but I did find 4 small pfaltzgraff plates for 0.25 each:
and a book about Easter for Willie
- though we are not religious, I feel he should know the reason behind the holidays we celebrate. Next stop Salvation Army, again no pot but this instead:
For my morning commute tea - I've been on a big honey, lemon, ginger tea kick lately.
On to Walmart. I hate walmart but lately have submitted to it because we have some gift cards from there. I broke down and bought the enamel pot. Then it was Walmart blah blah cheese bread blah blah Walmart. Then on to Marshalls where I found this goodie:
What is it, you ask?
Why, it's a butter thingamajigger! You put water in the bottom then stuff the top part full of butter. The water keeps an airtight seal so that the butter stays fresh and cool, but soft, without refrigeration! I've been wanting one for a long time and this was on sale for $5.99 so what the heck? Hope it works.
Anyway, couple more stops and I found all the stuff for Willie's Easter basket. I have a picture of those but the little one is sitting on my lap so if I post them he might catch on that they were not, in fact, delivered by the Easter Bunny. I'll post it in a quick post later on.
So, anyway, that was the first half of yesterday. The second half of yesterday was spent hacking away at a mountain of laundry, dying eggs, and making new shirts. All to be posted about later (well, not the laundry, I'm sure you're all familiar with that routine)
I hope everybody is having a fantastic Easter weekend with friends and family. I even hope you are enjoying sun and warm weather, which we are definitely not. All in good time I suppose! 'Til next time!
